Sanderson Firm Partners with WorkCompCollege to Launch MSPCollege and the Medicare Set-Aside Certified Planner ("MSACP") Program

For Immediate Release: Bradenton, FL: October 30, 2024

Sanderson Compliance LLC, a subsidiary of Sanderson Firm PLLC, a leading Medicare Secondary Payer ("MSP") compliance firm, and WorkCompCollege.com, a virtual training platform for the workers' compensation industry, proudly present the official launch of its newest educational accreditation course for claims professionals, Medicare Set-Aside Certified Planner ("MSACP").

Given the success of the Medicare Secondary Payer Accreditation (“MSPA”) course released earlier this year and the demand for additional courses, MSACP now joins MSPA as the second premiere course offered under the newly created MSPCollege banner (www.mspcollege.com).

Medicare Set-Aside Certified Planner ("MSACP")

Graduates of this MSACP accreditation program will be proficient in developing and drafting Medicare Set-Asides (MSAs) for various claim types and complexities. Students will also acquire an understanding of the supplementary details associated with the MSA process, including subsequent administration and optional submission to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). The program seamlessly carries this out by providing a variety of presenters with diverse expertise. In addition to Sanderson Firm experts, course faculty also includes Greg Gitter, President of Legacy Claim Solutions, John Kane, Senior Vice President of Ametros, and Christian Kolb, Assistant Vice President of Excess Workers’ Compensation Claims of Safety National.

MSACP students will benefit from an online, on-demand curriculum where they can progress through the course at a pace most convenient for their busy schedules. Additionally, regular updates will be made available to students through www.mspcollege.com as part of continuing education. Students also enjoy the ability to communicate directly with course faculty if questions arise.

Updates to the Medicare Secondary Payer Accreditation (“MSPA”) Program

In addition to the newly added MSACP program, new faculty will soon be added to the existing MSPA program. We are excited to welcome John Kane, Senior Vice President of Ametros as faculty for a new module covering professional administration. Also, as part of the revised MSPA program, we are thrilled to have Brian MacAllister, Senior Medicare Unit Manager of Liberty Mutual as faculty covering Section 111 Reporting.

In our existing fast-paced, ever-changing MSP compliance environment, other courses available for MSP were often not updated with new MSP initiatives. Not to mention, some require in-person attendance to become certified, which is costly for the aspiring student and their employer. Our MSPA & MSACP students have the luxury of taking these courses on their time.

Ultimately, students who successfully complete the MSPA and/or MSACP course will receive a physical and digital certificate of completion and may proudly display the accreditation as a professional designation.

Heather Sanderson, Chief Executive Officer of Sanderson Firm PLLC stated, “I am thrilled about this newly added MSACP course, which is very much needed by the Medicare Set-Aside industry, especially as Medicare continues to push on Medicare Set-Aside initiatives and the reporting of MSAs starting in April of 2025... I am equally excited about updates to our existing MSPA course, and the launch of MSPCollege, as we seek to add are more courses to continue to assist those in the industry broadening their expertise.”

Bob Wilson, President of WorkCompCollege said, “We are enthused about partnering with Sanderson Firm on yet another online educational course, adding to the roster of accreditations in MSP compliance from MSPCollege.”

John Kane, Senior Vice President, Strategy of Ametros added, “We are excited to collaborate on this educational initiative, which allows us to combine our strengths and talent to deliver a course that will make a lasting impact.”
