As many readers are likely aware, CMS’ Final Rule for imposing civil money penalties against non-compliant Responsible Reporting Entities (RREs) becomes applicable on October 11, 2024. RREs who fail to timely report Total Payment Obligation to Claimant (TPOC) and/or Ongoing Responsibility for Medicals (ORM) acceptance on or after October 11, 2024 will be subject to civil money penalties for any one instance of noncompliance of up to $365,000.00 (as adjusted annually for inflation under 45 CFR part 102) per record.
CMS’ upcoming September 12, 2024 webinar is the perfect opportunity for industry stakeholders to ask CMS policymakers any last-minute questions prior to the Final Rule applicability date. Sanderson Firm will attend the upcoming webinar and provide key takeaways following the Q&A session.
